And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
During this trying time, I continue to be surprised by the number of people at the shopping centers and the condition of the store shelves. I note the desperation in people, to make sure that they have enough, and it seems no matter how much they have or how full their carts, they still seem to be questioning “will there be enough?”.
There also seems to be no concern for what others may or may not have. The driving force with the general public appears to be “As long as I get mine”.
That isn’t the attitude that believers in Christ should exhibit though.
We are told not to worry about tomorrow (Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34).
We are also told not to worry about what we will eat, what we will drink or what we will wear (“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?Matthew 6:25 – 27).
God provides for the birds of the air and has promised to provide for His sons and daughters (For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11).
If we have nothing to fear, because our Heavenly Father will provide for us, our focus should then shift to those around us (1 We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. 2 Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. Romans 15:1-2).
He calls us to consider our neighbors, more than ourselves and to do everything in love (Let all that you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14).
God calls us to consider widows and orphans (27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27 NIV).
We are called to care for the weak (Romans 15:1 We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.).
He calls us to care for the poor (17 Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed. Proverbs 19:17).
We are called to serve God, glorifying Him in the process (16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16).
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are to exhibit the peace, hope and joy found in Him, to those around us so that they will see God in us (As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ. 2 Corinthians 9:13) . And, we are to be His hands and feet, ministering to them (Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20).
When the store shelves are bare, when we aren’t sure if there is enough money, time or provisions….remember God’s promises, there will be enough. Because God said that He will provide and because Jesus is ENOUGH! (9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9).
There will be enough, Jesus, because you are more than enough!
I pray that today we would seek the peace, hope and joy found only in our Savior. I pray that we would exhibit that same peace, hope and joy to those around us and I pray that we would minister to those around us. Those who may not have enough, family, food or provisions and most of all to those who do not have Jesus. He is all we/they really need.
If you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and have been asking yourself “will there be enough”, I pray that you would go to our Life Preserver page (https://forgiven-n-loved.com/life-preserver/) and pray the prayer that is outlined there. God, Himself, love you and wants to provide for you. He wants to provide forgiveness, love, peace, hope, joy and a Savior. Trust Him to provide for your needs and pray that prayer. Once you have, please reach out to me at admin@Forgiven-N-Loved.com. I’d love to be in prayer for you.
Luv Ya!
