One is Not a Lonely Number

One is Not a Lonely Number

We have all been alone and experienced loneliness, but God wants us to be one with Him. With God, One is Not a Lonely Number.

“Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.” John 14:10. Many years ago, there was an incredibly popular song entitled, “One is the Loneliest Number”. It was as depressing as it was popular. The song was based solely on how sad it is to be alone. WOO-HOO! Now that is something to sing about! Lol. 😀 With God, one is not a lonely number.

God was never alone. Multiple times in the scripture, we see Jesus exclaiming that He and the Father are one. The first time that we see God and Jesus together is in the book of Genesis when they are creating the earth and all that is in it. In fact, we see in the first and second chapters of Genesis that He was accompanied by the word (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. God, Himself was not alone.

God did not desire us to be alone either. He saw that it was not good for Adam to be alone and created a mate for him. He intended that this relationship between man and woman would be the blueprint for all future relationships. “18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Genesis 2:18.

When He brought the two together, they became one. And, when two become one, one is not a lonely number. Whether together or apart, the two are joined. They are never alone.

God knew that not everyone would marry, however. And He did not want His children, whether married or not, to ever be alone.

Jesus asked the Father to join the disciples (and us) to Himself, the Father, and the Holy Spirit when He was in prayer in the garden. “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. ” John 17:20-21. He desired that we would all be one. Again, in the Lord, one is not a lonely number.

God created marriage and said that two would become one. He also made a way that we could be one with the trinity. If we are followers of Jesus Christ, we will never again be alone.

God will never leave us. “It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. “Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8.

And, nothing can separate us from Jesus. “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” John 10:28.

We won’t ever be separated from the Holy Spirit either. “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,” John 14:16.

In light of this information — being one with the trinity — one is not the loneliest number. It isn’t a lonely number at all. It is a Spiritual party!

God did not want us to be alone. And He didn’t want us to ever be separated from Him. But we have to choose to invite Him to accompany us. He is a gentleman and not a party crasher. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20.

There are times in all of our lives when we feel lonely and alone. During a quarantine, in particular, we can feel lonely and alone. But we don’t have to be.

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, we have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Our Heavenly Father and Savior are merely a prayer away. Therefore, we are joined with them, for eternity, and we are one. God will never check the Caller ID and ignore our call. We will never get His voicemail. In fact, He will NEVER leave us. We need not feel alone or lonely. We need only to pray. “When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver and honor him.” Psalm 91:15. We are one and one is not a lonely number.

God doesn’t desire that anyone would be alone or that anyone would be separated from Him. Our sin can separate us from Him, for eternity. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23.

And God does not want us to be alone. He does not want us separated from Him either. “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9.

If you are not a follower of Jesus Christ, you need only repent of your sins and ask Jesus to be Lord of your life and you will never be alone again. You can find more details on our Life Preserver page (https://forgiven-n-loved.com/life-preserver/).

Father, thank You that You want good things for us. Thank You that You desired that we would not be alone and that we would never be without You. And thank You for making a way so that we would never have to be alone or separated from You. Father, forgive us when we fail to pray and spend time with You, but dwell on our circumstances. Forgive us when we do not seek You, but instead focus on our loneliness. Help us to recognize that You are right there with us. God, help us recognize that You will never leave or forsake us. Open our eyes to see how abundantly blessed we are in You. Help us to realize that when we are one with You, one is not a lonely number at all. We love You and pray these things in Your precious and Holy name, Lord.

If you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I pray that you would go to our Life Preserver page (https://forgiven-n-loved.com/life-preserver/) right now and pray the prayer that is outlined there. Our sin separates us from God if we are not followers of Jesus Christ. God wants to forgive you. God never wants to be separated from you again. Please pray that prayer. Once you have, reach out to me at admin@Forgiven-N-Loved.com and let me know. Also, reach out to me if you have any questions. I’d love to be in prayer with — and for — you.

Luv Ya!
