Great Joy!

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11

Tuesday we talked about how the Shepherd’s, once they receive news of the saviors birth from the angels, left everything behind to go and find him.

When we look at what the angel said to them, it’s no wonder they left everything to go find him. They said, “I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord”. They brought good news of GREAT JOY, for ALL people. Because the Savior had been born, Christ the Lord.

You wonder what the conversation must’ve been like, as the shepherds set out on their journey to see their long-awaited Savior. Surely they were excited, surely they were nervous, surely they were filled with great joy.

The Savior, who is sent for ALL people, had been born!

What a thing to be excited about, what a thing to want to see, what a thing to want to experience, and what a thing to be filled with joy about.

During this Christmas season, were you excited? Did you want to experience the Savior coming to earth? Were you filled with joy?
Or, did the many tasks of the season become overwhelming? Did the commercialism rob you of joy? Did Santa Claus block your view of the Savior?

Christmas and Easter are the two holidays that followers of Jesus should be so filled with joy that it overflows to those around them. And when we are not filled with joy and we become frazzled by the hustle and bustle, or focus on the commercialism and not the Savior or saddened by Santa, we rob God of glory because we have taken our eyes off of Him.

Be JOYOUS! We have a loving Heavenly Father who Devised a plan that would allow us to be redeemed of our sin, we have a Savior who paid the penalty for that sin and we have a Holy Spirit who indwells us to help us from committing even further sin (even though we still sin). And, we have eternity in Heaven with them!! How How can we learn anything that this world holds Rob us of the joy, and the excitement that we should have because of this.

Have GREAT JOY!

I pray that this Christmas you were filled with joy. I pray that you will continue to be filled with that joy for the entire year. I pray that those around us would be so overwhelmed by the joy in each of us that they would be drawn to our Risen Lord.

If you’ve never experienced the joy that I’m talking about and if you don’t know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I pray that you would go to our Life Preserver page (https://forgiven-n-loved.com/life-preserver/) and pray the prayer that is outlined there. I promise you that there is no greater joy then to be forgiven your sins and to experience the overwhelming love of Jesus Christ. Once you’ve prayed that prayer please reach out to me at admin@forgiven-n-loved.com. I’d love to be in prayer for you.

luv ya!

When God asked me to create this blog, I didn't even think it was something I could do. But in His strength and power and with His leading (and the help of our beautiful, contributing author, daughter) we did it! We pray that it helps you to draw closer to Him and that you would grow in your relationship and knowledge of our Saviour. Luv Ya!
