God’s Unique Pairings

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed. Proverbs 19:7

Sometimes God brings you together with people and you don’t know what that’s gonna look like as it plays out.

A few months ago a really dear friend of ours called and said “we know that you desire to use your house for whatever purposes God leads and we have a family who may need housing. They are waiting for their visas to come because the husband has gotten a job in another country. If their lease runs out (prior to their visas coming) and they need a place to stay, we were wondering if you would be willing to house them in the interim.”

We told them that we would pray about it and let them know. We needed very little time to pray because we felt the leading of the Lord, to open our home to this family and our prayers just confirm that that was God’s plan.

That was in September and it wasn’t until just before Thanksgiving that their landlord rented the house they were in and they had to vacate. So our little family of six, from Ghana West Africa, (mom, dad and four children) came to live with us.

We had no idea how long it would be before their visas came, but our home was open to them for as long as that would take.

You probably wonder how we could open our home to complete strangers. Well, it isn’t our home, it belongs to God. (“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. 1 Chronicles 29:14). Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:7

When God blesses us abundantly, shouldn’t we be willing to use whatever it is that He has given us to glorify Him and to make an impact on His eternal Kingdom? Of course we should.

And when we do, He will bless us even more abundantly. Now, I am not saying that if you give $10.00 God will give you back $100. I am saying that if you open your home to a family of 6 from Ghana, you may just find that the fellowship that you have over a cup of coffee is some of the sweetest you have ever known. You may find that the hugs you get from those children as they call you Auntie and Uncle may warm your heart and bless you more than you imagined they could. You may find that the Lord will use you to bless the family by giving them a temporary home. But, He may be blessing you with a a brother and sister in Christ that cause you to delve even deeper into your faith and praise God more than you did before you knew them.

That is what God did for us, with this divine and unique pairing of our little family from Ghana and my husband and I. Thank you Lord.

Our family is leaving on Monday and I ask that you would please pray for safe travel for them and that God would continue to bless their ministry.

I pray that God would provide each of you with similar and even more incredible opportunities to serve Him than He has us. I pray that you would recognize that every good and perfect gift is from Him and that you will be bountifully blessed by Him, if you use them for His glory. I pray that you would seek to serve God in a more sacrificial way than you ever have before. I promise you that God will bless you in ways you cannot even imagine.

If you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I pray that you would go to our Life Preserver page (https://forgiven-n-loved.com/life-preserver/) and pray the prayer that is outlined there. Once you have, please reach out to me (at admin@Forgiven-N-Loved.com) and let me know, so that I can be in prayer for you and be here if you need help our counsel. Our Heavenly Father, loves you and desires to forgive you and adopt you into His Family. (For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Romans 8:14). Pray the prayer…please?
