Follow The Leader

Follow The Leader

During this Covid catastrophe, it has been very difficult to know what to do and/or when to do it. The media and some political leaders have created such fear that some people won’t even leave their homes. Then, other media outlets and political leaders have had polar opposite messages that have created reckless attitudes in people that could result in significant Covid outbreaks. So, which leader do we follow?

Some reports tell us that Covid is an incredibly dangerous and infectious virus that could claim the lives of millions if we are not cautious. But others say that Covid is no different than the common flu virus and the numbers of fatalities are actually less than we have experienced during a flu outbreak.

Which side is right? Who should we listen to? I’d love to follow the leader, but which leader should we follow?

Scripture tells us that, we are to submit to the authorities that God has placed above us. “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.” Romans 13:1.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we should believe that the scripture is the holy, inerrant, word of God. “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,” 2 Timothy 3:16.

Therefore, God has asked that we submit to the authorities placed over us. We do not submit to them because they are great leaders. We do not submit to them because they are brilliant leaders. But we do submit because God Himself allowed them to lead us for His purposes.

This is just one more way that God lessens our burdens. It is one more way that He makes our decisions easier. And it’s one more way that He gives us freedom.

Because we don’t have to worry about whether to wear masks or not. We don’t have to worry about whether it is okay to gather in groups of 10 or more. If we are to trust God and His word, we will follow whatever guidelines the authorities over us have put in place (as long as they are not contrary to God’s word).

We don’t have to worry about which leader to follow. There is only one true leader. It is God Himself.

And He will lead us!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

But we have to trust God.

“And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:10.

And we have to believe His word because He wrote it by leading men to write what the Holy Spirit spoke to them.

“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21.

And, once we trust God and believe His word, the only thing left is to do what it says!

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” James 1:22.

So, even in uncertain times in which we may not have faith in our leaders — we may be uncertain about which leaders to follow and which of their edicts/rules/laws to follow — we can trust God and His word. And we can submit to the authorities that He has placed over us because nothing is outside His view. And He will never leave nor forsake us.

So, we can breath a sigh of relief and submit to the leaders He placed over us. We simply have to submit to and follow The Leader, God Himself.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7.

Father God, thank you for the way that you place leaders over us for your eternal purposes. Thank you for the peace you give us, no matter the circumstances. And thank you for never leaving nor forsaking us. Help us to exhibit that peace to an anxious and mislead world. And draw those who might seek you to yourself, Father. We love you so much. And we pray this in your precious and holy name, Jesus. Amen.

Are you anxious about the times right now? Worried about Covid and the fate of our Country? God’s got this. So, fear not! God’s desire is to draw you to Himself and to give you peace. But He needs you to trust Him before He can do that. He needs you to want a relationship with Him more than anything else. And all He asks is that you pray a simple prayer of repentance. Please go to our Life preserver page (https://forgiven-n-loved.com/life-preserver/) and pray the prayer that you will find outlined there. A prayer like that one is all that God asks. In Jeremiah 29:13 He tells us that when we seek Him with our whole heart, we WILL find Him. (“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”). Seek and find Him (and peace) today! Follow The Leader!

Once you have prayed this prayer, please reach out to me at Admin@Forgiven-N-Loved.com and let me know. I would love to be in prayer with, and for, you.

Luv Ya!
