Commit to the Lord what ever you do and he will establish your plans Proverbs 16:3.
I have had bosses who have said “practice signing my signature so that you can sign my name” or “feel free to sign my name”. I have never been comfortable with that. But, they trusted me, they were the ones who instructed me to create and/or do whatever required their signature and because they had full knowledge of the work that I did, they didn’t mind me signing their name to it.
That makes me think about my service to God. I wonder if I could sign His name to my efforts and my days?
When I lead my women’s study, have I prepared enough that I would feel comfortable signing Jesus name to it? I have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to lead me, I am doing what God lead me to do, yet, have I given it enough effort and prayer that I could sign my Savior’s name? I am if I abide by 2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth”.
How about the way I raised my children, did I read them the scriptures enough, get them to church enough, lead them in the ways of the Lord enough, that I could sign Jesus name? I can if I am following Deuteronomy 6:6-7 “These words I am commanding you today must be kept in mind, and you must teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house, as you walk along the road, as you lie down, and as you get up.”
Am I serving God and doing His will so well in my work place that I could sign His name? I am if I am following the teachings of Mark 16:15 “And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”.
Have I spent enough quality time with God, that I could sign His name to that time or this day? I will have if I model my prayer life after Jesus example in Mark 1:35 “And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed” and Luke 6:12 “It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God”.
Have I prayed enough and been thankful enough that I could sign His name? I have if I have committed myself to Colossians 4:2 “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” and 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “pray without ceasing”.
The bottom line is, if we have done everything the way that we are called to, we would say Lord, I pray that I praised, glorified, obeyed and honored you so much today that I sign your name to this day.
And, if we fell short (because this side of heaven we will not be perfect) we will say Lord, where I praised, glorified, obeyed and honored you I commit that time to you and where I fell short, I ask your forgiveness.
But please don’t forget that, although we won’t be perfect this side of heaven, we are to strive for perfection (For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21).
I pray that we would make a conscious effort to attempt perfection when we spend quiet time with the Father today. I pray that we would make the same effort when praying to Him, preparing for our studies, instructing our children and grandchildren, evangelizing and glorifying God in the world. I pray that what ever we do, we would do it ALL to the glory of the Lord (So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God 1 Corinthians 10:31) because He alone is worthy (Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable Psalm 145:3 & “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:11).
After all that He has done for us, He deserves our best. I pray that we can sign His name to this day. And, because we have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit we “can do all things through Christ who strengthens us” Philippians 4:13.
If you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and have been trying to be good and do good on your own, I regret having to tell you that it can’t be done. I pray that you would go to our Life Preserver page (http://forgiven-n-loved.com/Life-Preserver/), you will see there that the scripture tells us that we are incapable of paying the penalty for our own sin. But praise God, He sent His son to die on the cross (paying the penalty for our sin) and then He raised Him from the dead and He now sits at the right hand of the Father awaiting all those who have accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. Please pray that prayer. The Father, Son, Holy Spirit (and me too) would love to spend eternity with you. Once you have prayed that prayer, please reach out to me at admin@Forgiven-N-Loved.com and let me know so that I can be in prayer for you.
Luv Ya!
