A Table Full of Sinners

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10

I remember how incredibly unworthy of forgiveness I felt, before I knew Jesus.

I knew the magnitude and quantity of my sin and I couldn’t fathom that God could forgive me for all of that. Some people struggle with recognizing their sin though. They think that for all intents and purposes they are a “good person”. They have a difficult time recognizing their need for a savior and coming to terms with the fact that all have send and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

I personally knew a young woman who was like that. She had been raised to be a really good girl, and by the world standards, she really was. But by God‘s standards… she wasn’t sinless and she needed a Savior. It still brings Tears to my eyes when I think about the day she told me that she had gone to a youth conference and God has revealed to her that she really wasn’t a “good girl”, she wasn’t sinless and that she desperately needed a Savior and asked Jesus to be Lord of her life.

That young woman is such an incredible blessing to me, a devout follower of Jesus, my precious spiritual daughter, A great friend to my daughters, an incredible wife to my son, And a Godly mother to my grandbabies. I praise God that He revealed to her how great her need for him was and that she excepted his free gift of salvation.

Jesus showed us throughout his life on earth, that there were none too unforgivable. The people, in the scripture, that He spent time with and that He forgave of their sins, were typically very sinful people. They were people that some of us probably wouldn’t even associate with.

But, Jesus didn’t come to condemn us (For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John3:17) He came to save us.
His word tells us that he desires that none would perish (The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:9).

Now that I know Jesus, I realize that I am unworthy of forgiveness, it is only by the grace and mercy of our Heavenly Father and the shed blood of our Savior that I am redeemed.

But I am not alone. There are none righteous no not one (Romans 3:10).

There are multiple verses in scripture that speak of a banquet table in Heaven (can you imagine what that is going to look like!). “And people will come from east and west, and from north and south, and recline at table in the kingdom of God.” Luke 13:29

“I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,” Matthew 8:11

Imagine those who will be seated at that table! Peter, Paul, Moses, Mary, David, Joseph…real Christian saints (who sinned just like you and I)! Oh, and let’s not forget, the adulterous woman at the well, the tax collector, the thief on the cross, me, my precious daughter-in-love and hopefully you! It will truly be a table full of sinners, redeemed by the blood of Christ! Thank you Jesus!

I pray for today we will rejoice over the mercy and grace that God has shown us, over the sacrifice that our precious Savior made to redeem us, over the indwelling Holy Spirit convicts and guides and loves us. I pray that we would thank God for who he is and all that he does And for the magnitude of his love for us. And I pray that we would share that with others that they too might know his mercy and grace. (John 20:21, “As the Father has sent me, I also send you).

If you do not personally know the saving power of Jesus Christ and the forgiveness of your sins and the incredible love of our heavenly father, I pray that you would go to our Life Preserver page and pray the prayer of the timeline there, because God is patiently been waiting for you to come to him that he could pour out his love on you. Once you’ve prayed that prayer please reach out to me at admin@Forgiven-N-Loved.com and let me know so that I can be in prayer for you.
