A Masterpiece

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

As a child and growing up, there were not a lot of compliments in our house. We didn’t get a lot of pats on the back and we didn’t hear “I’m so proud of you”. And although I realized that there are a lot of people with similar back grounds there are also a lot of other people who were brought up differently.

Then I sat listening to one of my brothers in Christ give a brief testimony about His upbringing, and the Lord revealed to me that this brother and I had similar upbringings and I was able to speak some of the things that God has shown me, in my walk.

Then a night or so later, one of our children called and began to confess to some insecurities that they were having and their feelings of insufficiency. And that child confessed that one of our other children was feeling similarly.

What I realized in all of this is that we all have baggage. We all have insecurities and doubts about ourselves. We all, at times, feel insufficient. I believe that if anyone says that they don’t, they are overcompensating to convince themselves that they are okay and that they are enough.

Well guess what, we are all also, more than enough.

We each have our brokenness, we each have our doubts about who we are, we each have our insecurities. And, we have an enemy who will never fail to remind us of those.

But we also have a Heavenly Father who adores us and created us with purpose.

If an extremely talented artist molded something in clay or painted something on canvass we would call that thing that they created A Masterpiece. Even though I might personally find it unappealing, the mere fact that this famous artist produced it causes it to be considered A Masterpiece.

There is no artist who has ever lived who can create the way that our Heavenly Father does. The greatest masterpiece ever created by mankind, pales in comparison to the least of God’s creations. (But now, O LORD, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand. Isaiah 64:8)

Then you take into consideration that we were each created in God’s own image and guess what, YOU ARE A MASTERPIECE. You are a creation of the God who created the universe! And you were created in His image, to do the works that He has planned for you. (For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10).

Think about the fact that God created you, the maker of heaven and earth created you, with things that he wanted to use you to accomplish in mind. And those things are not being a postal worker or a secretary or a mechanic. Those things are glorifying your Creator so that the rest of His creation would desire a relationship with Him. Now how is He going to do that with if we are insufficient. You were created to with full sufficiency to do what your Creator desired and that is to accomplish things that will have an ETERNAL impact!

The enemy knows that weakness. He knows your insecurities, doubts and what makes you feel insufficient. And he will whisper to you that you are not good enough, you are not able, you are not loved. Sometimes he will even use our loved ones, perhaps even the ones who treated us poorly and who were the first to convince us of these things, to tear us down.

But look what the scriptures tell us (For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:13-14). Look at that, the verse says that “my soul knows it very well”, this is something that God wants us convinced of!

Now, let me ask you something The enemy (or thief as referenced in this verse) “comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10. Why would we listen to his lies! Not only do we listen to his lies, but we repeat them! Someone says “you are a really special person” and we think it is humble to say “no, I am a sinner saved by grace”. If you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, that is not true, you were a sinner, now you are a saint who (yes, by the grace of God and blood of Jesus) is saved by grace (God’s unearned favor)!

God created you uniquely (to do the works He planned before hand), in His image and there is only one you. You are A MASTERPIECE! Believe God and start living like it.

The world doesn’t see Jesus in another beat down person who has no self worth. The do however, see Him in a redeemed person, trusting God and believing what He says about who they are and about everything else for that matter.

Don’t repeat the whispers of the enemy. Accept compliments and remind people that any goodness they see in you comes from our Loving Creator and Heavenly Father.

I pray that today we would embrace who God says that we are and that we would trust Him to not be the creator of junk by to be the creator of Masterpieces. Glorify Him in your works, words, faith and trust. He loved you enough to make you His child (“And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:18), you must be pretty special in His eyes and that is all that matters.

If you, like the rest of us are carrying some pretty heavy baggage and have little to know self worth and if you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I pray that you would go to our Life Preserver page (https://forgiven-n-loved.com/lifepreserver/) and pray the prayer that is outlined there. God wants to take that baggage from you (Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28) and make you a daughter of The King. Once you have prayed that prayer, please reach out to me at admin@Forgiven-N-Loved.com and let me know so that I can be in prayer for you and can help you grow in your knowledge of and relationship with our Precious Savior, Jesus Christ.

Luv ya!
