When God Speaks

“It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear. Isaiah 65:24

God speaks through out all of scripture but the first time that we see Him speak is in chapter 1 of Genesis.

In Genesis 1:3 God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

Then in verse 1:6 God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”

In verse 1:9 God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.

And in verse 1:11 God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them”; and it was so.

In verse 1:14 God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years;

And in verse 1:20 God said, “Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens.”

In verse 1:24 God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind”; and it was so.

Finally in verse 1:26 God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

In all of these verses God simply spoke and the Sun, moon, planets, oceans, birds, animals and mankind were all created.

Not only does creation come into being when God speaks but, for those who accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, promises are made.

“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 1 Chronicles 7:14. He promises that if we humble ourselves and pray and seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, He will not only hear from Heaven, but He will forgives us AND heal our land! That should make us all get on our knees.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:12. God desires to prosper us, give us hope and a future. He is not promising to make us CEOs in this life, with no troubles whatsoever. He is promising to make us sons and daughters of the King of Kings, heirs to His eternal Kingdom. Therein lies our hope and our future and our prosperity.

“For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13. In this life we will have trials, but He has promised to hold our hand (the way a protective Father would hold his little ones hand) and protect us.

These are just three of the verses in which God makes promises to us. And, in those three short verses we find healing for our land, forgiveness of our sins, hope, an eternal future in Heaven and a loving, Heavenly Father (Abba) who will hold our hands during trials and will protect us.

Can we honestly read them and have any doubt about the magnitude of our Heavenly Fathers love for us?

I pray that God would speak audibly into your heart through these verses today. I pray that they would cause you to want to study His word more, to see what else He wants to say to you. And I pray that His great love for you would create a hunger and longing to be in His presence and to pray and be in communion with Him like never before. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are a dearly loved child of the God of all creation. Close your eyes, climb up into His lap and just be still and feel His love for you.

If you are not currently a follower of Jesus Christ and have never experienced the forgiveness, and deep incredible love of the Father, I pray that you would go to our Life Preserver page (https://forgiven-n-loved.com/life-preserver/) and pray the prayer that is outlined there. God loves you so deeply that He gave His only son (who was crucified and died to pay the penalty for our sins) so that He could have a personal relationship with you and spend eternity with you. He will keep His promises. Please pray.

Luv ya!

But in His strength and power and with His leading (and the help of our beautiful, contributing author, daughter) we did it! We pray that it helps you to draw closer to Him and that you would grow in your relationship and knowledge of our Saviour. Luv Ya!
