Answered Prayers

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 1 John 5:14-15

During our last women’s study of the year we have typically gone back over our prayer list and discussed the victories and the mercies that God has shown us, through answered prayers.

God has answered prayers of salvation, healing, safety, and the list just goes on and on.

In John 5:14-15 The Scripture tells us that if we ask anything according to God’s will, He hears us.

King David saw God answer his prayers first hand. (But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. Psalm 66:19). Remember that David was a man after God’s own heart, which would lead us to believe that the prayers that he petitioned were God’s will.

That is the difficult part, sometimes, asking for things that are according to God’s will and not ours.

But when we are walking closely with The Lord and we’re in His word and praying to Him without ceasing, the way He’s asked, (Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) we see in Isaiah 65:24 that God will answer before we even ask. (Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear. Isiah 65:24).

When we are anxious or worried we are typically more likely to go to the Lord in prayer, but He tells us in Philippians 4:6 we’re not to be anxious, we’re simply to go to Him in prayer (do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6).

But our prayers aren’t just to ask for things, for ourselves. God wants us to ask, because He’s a Good Father, and He wants to provide for us and be there for us and answer our prayers. But our prayers should also be for one another and for all people. (First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people. 1 Timothy 2:1).

Our prayerS should also be to just have communion with our Heavenly Father. Our Prayer time should be spent sharing with him the way we would if we had just been reunited with our earthly father. We should long to tell Him all the details of our day, not just complaints and prayer requests, but the blessings and the praises and the joy and…we should listen. If we do, God says that He will speak to us and reveal hidden things to us. (Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. Jeremiah 33:3).

There’s nothing our Heavenly Father can’t do. And if we’re praying according to His will there’s nothing He won’t do.

But we have to remember that the key to answered prayers and asking according to God’s will, is a clean heart and that requires repentance. Whenever we are going to the throne of grace we should always repent first, so that our sin doesn’t hinder our prayers from reaching God. (Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2)

I pray that today we would desire time with our Heavenly Father, that we would go to the throne of grace with repentant hearts and tremendous praise. I pray that we would lift His name high and that we would be still and listen for His voice.
Thank you Father, that you would even hear our petitions.

If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and if you desire to hear God’s voice, I pray that you would go to our Life Preserver page (https://forgiven-n-loved.com/life-preserver/) and pray the prayer that’s outlined there. Our Heavenly Father longs to hear your voice, He desires to forgive you and spend eternity with you.
Once you’ve prayed this prayer please reach out to me at admin@Forgivem-N-Loved.com And let me know so that I can be in prayer for you and lifting you up to our Heavenly Father.

Luv ya!
